Military

Medium Infantry, primarily used swords or axes mostly axes, heater shields and chain mail hauberks.
Heavy Cavalry, lances and then preference of swords and axes mostly swords, teardrop norman shields, also wore chainmail hauberks. Horses utilized barding.
Conscripts of light infantry, spears a shield and if wealthy maybe armor led by knights under the direction of the king or noble of high prominence.
Rank and File. Men who trained at fighting but lacked the veterancy to be considered more.
Man at arms. People who survived to be mid twenties.
Knights. Lords in training with a martial bent.
Lords. Because all nobles should be ready to die for king and country… right?

Current military is divided into a few categories.
Each House, likely, maintains some sense of House Guard not a true military but still armed individuals.
House Martin, maintains a large portion of ground based medium infantry making up the bulk of the military.
House Bruce, controls more than a few mounted lancers making up the majority of the mounted military.
House Verney, lots of rangers and yeomen.
The Silver Runes, the city guard currently little more than levy troops than true men at arms.
The Copper Spiders, hired mercenaries currently training other troops may or may not be integrated as regulars like the Silver Runes.
